The Malaysian Bar understands that a police report has been lodged against its MyConstitution Campaign by Kelab Belia Graduan 1Malaysia (KBGM). KBGM has reportedly voiced concern that the booklets produced under the Campaign (Rakyat Guides) may be seditious.We believe that KBGMs concerns about the Campaign are misplaced, and stem from a lack of knowledge and understanding of the Campaign as well as the Federal Constitution (Constitution). The Campaigns aim is to increase awareness of the Constitution among Malaysians because the Constitution defines our country. It is not the Malaysian Bars aim to seek to amend the Constitution. The Campaign is non-partisan and we make every effort to work with all individuals and entities who wish to work with us. To date, our activities have been graced and supported by a Minister and a Deputy Minister in the Prime Ministers Department, a Chief Minister, two Menteri Besar, Members of Parliament including the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, and many other bodies.

Badan Peguam difahamkan bahawa satu laporan polis telah dibuat terhadap Kempen Perlembagaanku oleh Kelab Belia Graduan 1Malaysia (KBGM). Adalah dilaporkan bahawa KBGM telah menyuarakan kebimbangannya bahawa buku-buku panduan yang dikeluarkan oleh Kempen itu (Buku Panduan Rakyat) mungkin bersifat menghasut.Kami percaya bahawa kebimbangan KBGM tentang Kempen itu adalah tersasar, dan timbul akibat kurangnya pemahaman dan ilmu berkenaan Kempen itu dan juga Perlembagaan Persekutuan (Perlembagaan). Tujuan Kempen ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesedaran tentang Perlembagaan di kalangan rakyat Malaysia kerana ia memberi makna kepada negara kita. Ia langsung tidak menjadi matlamat Badan Peguam untuk cuba membuat pindaan terhadap Perlembagaan. Kempen ini tidak bersifat kepartian dan kami mengambil segala usaha untuk menjalinkan usahasama dengan semua pihak yang mahu bekerjasama dengan kami. Setakat ini, aktiviti-aktiviti kami telah dihadiri dan disokong oleh seorang Menteri dan seorang Timbalan Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri, seorang Ketua Menteri, dua Menteri Besar, Ahli-ahli Parlimen termasuklah Yang di-Pertua Dewan Rakyat dan Timbalan Yang di-Pertua Dewan Rakyat dan pihak-pihak lain.

Why should those suspected of crime be beaten up or killed while in custody? he asked, adding that those accused should instead be taken to court.
